Get a Brighter Smile, Unlock a More Confident You
Dr. Casetin Lybbert is a hometown dentist who knows this community and the people in it. He takes time to talk, listen, and explain your options in simple terms so you can choose what feels right for your life, not just your Instagram feed.

Step 1: Talk & Check
We start by asking what bothers you about your smile and what you want to change. Then we look at your teeth and gums, check for any issues, and compare your current shade with a guide. This helps us set a realistic target so you know what to expect.
Step 2: Clean & Protect
If you’re doing in-office whitening, we clean your teeth first, then place a soft barrier over your gums and lips so the gel stays where it should—on your teeth only. Comfort is a big focus here. If anything pinches or feels strange, we adjust.

Step 3: Whitening Time
We apply the Opalescence gel and let it work while you sit back. You can watch Netflix, listen to something, or just rest. We may refresh the gel a few times depending on your plan. Throughout, we check in with you and watch how your shade is changing.
Step 4: Aftercare Plan
When we are done, we rinse everything off, compare your new shade to where you started, and talk about what to expect over the next couple of days. You’ll leave with simple tips on what to avoid short-term (like very dark drinks) and how to keep your new color as long as possible.

A Brighter Smile, Done the Right Way
Professional whitening can make a real difference if you like the shape of your teeth but not the color. Even a few shades lighter can soften lines, brighten your face, and make you more comfortable smiling at work, in photos, and around family.
We use Opalescence professional whitening, which lets us control the strength, timing, and method based on your teeth and your comfort level. The goal is a clean, natural boost—not a “glow in the dark” look that doesn’t fit your personality.

Why Teeth Lose Their Sparkle
Teeth darken for different reasons, even when you take good care of them. Common causes include:
- Daily drinks like coffee, tea, soda, and red wine
- Tobacco use
- Natural aging as the enamel thins
- Old fillings or past trauma to a tooth
- Certain medications or enamel defects from childhood
At your visit, we look at what kind of stains you have and how deep they are. Some discoloration responds very well to whitening. Others may need a different approach, like bonding or veneers. We will be honest about what whitening can and cannot do for your smile.

Whitening Options that Fit Real Life
Not everyone wants the same speed or level of change, so we offer options that can be mixed and matched:
In-Office Whitening
A great choice if you want a faster change for an event, job interview, or big life moment. You come in, we protect your gums, apply the gel, and monitor the shade while you relax.
Custom Take-Home Trays
Ideal if you prefer to whiten slowly and quietly at home. We make trays that fit your teeth and give you professional-strength gel to use over several days or weeks.
Combined Approach
Some patients brighten quickly in the office, then use trays at home now and then to keep things fresh. This can be a simple way to maintain results without starting over each time.
We’ll help you pick the option that matches your schedule, your sensitivity level, and the kind of change you’d like to see.
Why Choose a Dentist Instead of Store Kits?
Over-the-counter strips and pastes can help a little, but they have limits. They use weaker gel, one-size trays, and no exam—and they leave you on your own if something doesn’t feel right.
With professional whitening at Pebble Creek, you get:
- A full checkup first, so we don’t whiten over cavities or gum problems
- Stronger gel that is used safely and evenly
- Help if you feel sensitive or have questions mid-treatment
- Guidance on how white is realistic and still natural for you
Most patients find that one good round of professional whitening, plus smart maintenance, is more effective and less frustrating than trying many drugstore options that never quite deliver.

When Whitening Makes Sense—and When It Might Not
Whitening is often a great choice if:
- You like the shape and alignment of your teeth overall
- Your main concern is yellow or brown staining
- You want a noticeable change without major dental work
We may suggest other options or a “step one, step two” approach if:
- You have many front fillings, crowns, or veneers that will not change color
- You have deep gray or banded stains from past medications
- You have untreated cavities, cracks, or gum disease that should come first
Our promise is simple: we won’t recommend whitening as a quick cover-up if we see bigger issues underneath. We start with health, then work on looks.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does whitening cost?
Cost depends on the type of whitening you choose and how much brightening you need. At your visit, we walk you through options and give you a clear estimate before you decide. Many patients feel that one good round of professional whitening, plus occasional touch-ups, is more cost-effective than trying multiple store-bought kits that never quite give them the result they want.
Can I whiten if I have crowns, fillings, or veneers in front?
Whitening only affects natural enamel. It won’t change the color of crowns, veneers, or tooth-colored fillings. If you have older restorations that will show in your smile, we’ll talk first about how whitening will look around them. Sometimes the best plan is to whiten your natural teeth and then replace a few visible restorations to match.
How white can I expect my teeth to get?
Everyone’s “ceiling” is different. Your starting shade, type of stains, and natural tooth color all play a role. Most patients see their teeth brighten by several shades and feel a clear difference in the mirror. At your consultation, we show you where you are now on a shade guide and give you a realistic idea of how far we can safely go.
Will my teeth feel sensitive afterward?
Some people do notice more sensitivity to cold for a day or two after whitening, especially if they already have sensitive teeth. If that’s you, we can use a milder gel, shorter sessions, or add desensitizing products before and after your visit. Most sensitivity is temporary and fades on its own within a few days.
Will whitening damage my enamel?
When done correctly under a dentist’s care, whitening is very safe for enamel. The gel works by breaking up stain molecules in the outer layers of the tooth, not by thinning or shaving away the enamel. Before we start, we check your teeth for cracks, wear, or other issues and adjust your plan if anything needs extra protection.
How long does professional whitening usually last?
For most people, results last about one to three years. It depends on what you drink, whether you smoke, and how well you brush and floss. If you enjoy a lot of coffee, tea, or red wine, you may see stains return sooner. We can set you up with a simple touch-up plan so you don’t have to start from scratch each time.
